The Road goes ever on and on ... Day 360 (860)

The only new coronavirus news I was able to find checking my usual sources was that POTUS likely has BA.5and is improving, though sore throat and body aches have been added to the list of what he's feeling. He told one committee virtually that he felt better than he sounded.

Have a good Sunday afternoon and evening!

The Road goes ever on and on ... Day 345 (845)

So I just posted yesterday's entry. I noticed that as I went to post that I was taking today off. Does that mean I am making a post today? Not! I spent this morning doing things I did not expect to be doing, and really want to get to the endpoint of reorganizing my studio/sewing room. And as I type that, it occurs to me that since tomorrow is my second birthday (Son #2 and DIL= could not make it last weekend), I probably won't fit in posting then either.

Queen Elizabeth still lives. Ukraine is still at war. Americans still own too many guns. There is a lot that is still right in the world and a lot that isn't.

See you on Monday.

The Road goes ever on and on ... Day 324 (824)

I'm declaring a weekend away. Today has been spent making muffins, delivering muffins, picking up an engagement ring  whose missing prong had been replaced, and picking up light rum to go with the watermelon daiquiris we might be making tomorrow. (We had only dark rum.) I'm beat. Tomorrow is Father's Day and a belated birthday, and time to research and write will be limited. Happy Father's Day to all that are or play the role of fathers.

Until Monday...

The Road goes ever on and on ... Day 311 (811)

None of the several sources I checked this morning had anything about covid. There was an article on how the mRNA method developed for the covid vaccine is proving useful in the search for an HIV vaccine. A candidate vaccine can be developed in a matter of months rather than years. A possible vaccine can be developed and tested in less time than developing an old-school vaccine would. Something good to come out of the pandemic.

I spent the afternoon taking a virtual class in wet felting from the Shaker Village in Maine. I made what could be used as a possible bird's nest, though there are many other uses. I shall definitely try this again.

The Road goes ever on and on ... Day 272 (772)

Right before the pandemic started, the first item on my list of big things to take care of was to check with Safelite about getting the windshield on my car repaired or replaced. It had some dings, three of which were spidering. Bam! Pandemic! I finally got around to going to Safelite today. The replacement was supposed to take an hour, but my dinged windshield put up a fight and fought leaving what it thought was its proper place. The time I set aside to write was spent reading at Safelite instead. I hate wimping out so soon after another such day, but that's life for you, or, at least for me. I can say, though, that looking through a clean, dingless windshield while driving home was pretty sweet.

The Road goes ever on and on ... Day 269 (769)

I have some coronavirus notes, not many, but some. But having spent the past more than several hours dealing with photos from the quilt show that need to be put on the website, I'm calling time-out of screen time. The photographer did not name the files meaning I've been going back and forth from one thing to another to figure out which quilt is which and who won what ribbon. There are still four quilts to go, one of which I may have found. I'll decide on that later. If I need to email quilters and ask for a photo or description of their quilt, four is much easier to handle than forty.

I hope everyone is having the beautiful weather I'm seeing out my window. I think I'll go enjoy it in person for a while.
